Hinerangi Awesome Immersion Assembly...

Walt: recount an event.

Have you ever studied comic books before? Well this Term team 4 will be creating their own comics, the other teams are studying there own exciting and exquisite topics as usual.

The school theme for this term is as i see it. Which is all about art. Team 1’s topic is all about what there favorite things are. The other teams are doing topics like Seasons, Architecture and Waka Races. I am looking forward to be seeing all the other teams topics and how they're doing.

Well team 4 are doing sequential art which means that we will be writing stories with art. For this terms topic for team 4 is called KA POW. If you want to know what sequential art means than I’ll give you an example. Well do you know how Caveman Drawn on there walls, well that is what sequential art means.

What I want to get out of this terms topic? Well I hope that we get to draw pictures but with more details in it. I would also like to learn more about comics and how other people created them. I also hope that we all get to read more about comics.

I am really looking forward to be doing a lot of comics this term. I am also interested to be reading a lot of comics and looking forward to be creating a lot of animations about comics. I can’t wait to be studying comics this term. Hope you liked reading my story.

Have you ever been to a Fiafia event before at your School? Well I have. At our School we have our Fiafia event every 2 years, but this year was the best Fiafia ever. Everyone was so excited but nervous when they got on the stage. As soon as they walked on stage I knew that they were all shaking but smiling at the same time.

Fiafia is all about people performing on stage which means that you might be performing your own culture performance or maybe do something else. Fiafia was on Thursday the 7th of April. The Fiafia event was on the field outside but last time it was in the hall. The people I bring with me was my whole family, Friends and some of my Cousins.   

The group I was in for Fiafia was the KapaHaka group. We all danced to different traditional Maori songs called Whakataka, Utaina, Ka Pioioi and the Haka. The reason why I chose Kapa Haka was because Kapa Haka is my culture name. My whole group was practicing for 5 weeks. The week after that everyone had to show our amazing tutors the whole performance. They were the best tutors ever because they taught us everything they knew.

My favourite performance was the Junior to Senior Hip Hop group. The reason why I chose the Junior to Senior Hip Hop group was because everyone showed a lot of encouragement and they all performed well. I also chose this group because my little sister Precious was in it. I didn’t only like this group I liked all of the groups who performed that night.

My favourite thing at the Fiafia event was watching everyone perform and eating the food. Also I liked performing on stage and doing a lot of other things with my tutors. This year's Fiafia would of been the best Fiafia event ever. I hope you guys like reading my story...

Hinerangi Camp Experience...

Last week team 4 had camp at School. This year I was a year 5 student, which means that next year I will be able to go to camp again. The group I was in was called the kindonators. The captains of our team was Samoa & Ajani. They were the best leaders ever.

The camp tents was on the field. Camp was so fun because everyone had so much fun through that whole week. On Wednesday night some of the kids had to sleep inside the Tusitala Rm in the Class and in the Library. I had to sleep in Rm 6,7 & 8, Mr Somerville class. In the Class Rm I was sleeping next to Julieanna and Tiari, They both were so annoying.

My favourite activity was playing games in the hall. The reason why I picked  playing games in the hall is because you got to do Roller-skating play table tennis and play shooting. What we did was that the first thing we did was to practice the dance routine. The people I was skating with was Skye and Tiari.

My 2nd favourite highlight was cooking with Mrs Garden. The reason why I picked cooking with Mrs Garden was because we got to bake a-lot of cookies. The amount of cookies we bake was 211 cookies. The amount of cookies we got to eat was 1 each. Everyone was having a lot of fun altogether. The people I was cooking with was Tiari,Ayla and Charlese.

What I think about camp is that it is so fun so recommend use to try it out. This year was the best camp ever because we got to sleep at School. The reason why I like camp is because everyone got to go to the pools, and go to pakuranga pools on Thursday Morning. I am a year 5 student so if course I am going to camp next year BECAUSE IT IS SO FUN. So I totally recommend all of use to try it out at your School.

Last week the year 5 & 6 students have been on camp. Camp was the best thing this term. It was so fun because everyone had so much fun so as me. My favourite thing was everything at camp. This term was the best term ever.
