WALT: Share what we did at immersion assembly

Term 3 is here, I am really excited to be announcing what our school is going to be learning this term.
“Something in the water” this terms topic is really interesting as I am definitely looking forward to what
we will be learning. So far it’s been exciting to be back as we all received a huge warm welcome back
from these recent school holidays. I am super determined to be discovering more and unknown things
that live under water, continue reading for more information.

“Let’s welcome up, Team 1”. “Mr Burt said”. From what I’ve already heard, seen and been connected
with is that team 1 is learning a variety of sea animals along with sea creatures that live under the sea.
Watching their short video really hooked me in and was incredibly interesting. As most of you should
know last term team 1 was learning more about bee’s with a group called S.O.F.A. the meaning behind
this incredible group is Status Of Forces Agreement. There topic sounds really fun, interesting and is
definitely able to hook people in for more awesome information. I am really looking forward to what team
1 will be learning this term hoping to get a bit more information to know what there fully doing.

“It’s now time for team 2”, “Mr Burt said!”. Team 2 is learning a variety of different sized animals and
creatures which swim under water and of course on land. Team 2 is finding out some real cool and
describable information for everyone to know, I really enjoyed watching their mini film as I felt like I
wanted to watch incredibly more and to see what they are going to do with what they’re learning this
term. I am looking super forward to what they’re learning just hoping to see what type of information
they find out and how interested they’re going to be. 

“It’s time for team 3”! Team 3 this term is learning different sorts of oceans that is located all around the
world. To me their topic may include something to do with last term as we were to find out the longitude
and latitude of where everything lays. To be able to find out where your going around the world you are
to find out the longitude and latitude of your location. I can’t wait to see what team 3 get up to this term. 

“Team 4”! The movie that was recently presented to us by team 4 was incredible. I loved watching how
they introduced their film and described how and what they’re doing. I think team 4 will be learning the
different sorts that live on land and underwater with all the different locations of the world. I am really
excited to be reading and seeing what they get upto this term as I know I’ll be wanting to read loads
more on what they’re team is trying to find out.

 Overall my favourite team would have to be team 5 as our presentation and performance was different
from the other 4 teams, it was totally fun, super interesting and incredibly funny. I really enjoyed my
teams performance as it really hooked everyone in and definitely had an awesome song to go with it.
The song went in order from Mrs Ilaoa, Mrs Stone, Ms Tapuke, Mrs Moala and Whaea Kelly. I really
enjoyed the song which described what are in cells, it went like. Cells, nucleus, chromosome, DNA
and Gene. Team 5  will be learning the different things that are hidden or seen under water, I am super
excited for this terms theme and I can't wait to get into this terms work. 

This term would probably have to be my favourite theme as it’s really interesting and I know for sure I
would know more about underwater fish. I am definitely and extremely looking forward to this terms
topic, can’t wait to see what everyone does.   

Immersion Assembly

This term our school theme is called I like your latitude. Latitude is the meaning of finding the right
directions of where you are and where you are going, it also means the angular distance of North and
south of the earth’s equator. This term is going to be incredibly epic.

Team 1’s topic is all about bees, Bees are becoming extremely endangered and it is time that we help
to save them due to extinction. Team 2’s topic is all about knowing there directions and coordinates
so they are able to find the treasure of where it was hidden. They are also learning how to and where
to go from where they are officially standing, and from there it is time for them to work there way
around the block. Team 3’s topic is all about learning how to write their own pick a path story. Team
4’s topic is all about navigation similar to orienteering. Navigating is a way of finding your way around
places just like finding out where to go on a compass. Last but not least, Team 5. Team 5’s topic is
all about finding and knowing where we are going when travelling the world. Our main question is
where in the longitude are we?

So there you have it. Here is the theme of what we are doing, the topics of each and everyone of the
teams and of course what everyone is going to be doing.

Immersion Assembly

Have you ever been to an immersion assembly before? Well early this morning teams 1 - 5

had an Immersion assembly, that had told us what the theme was all about. This term everyone will be studying music.

Our school theme is called Musical Madness. Team’s 1 - 3 will be learning to create their own music well as their own Instruments, by using different kinds of materials. Team 5 will be doing something similar to what we are doing but a bit different.This term is going to be heaps of fun.

Team 4’s topic is all about creating our own music & making our own instruments. Team 4’s movie was really funny & incredible. The teachers were cruising around in a vehicle playing all different kinds of popular music tracks (but some of them were too old school for me to know). The tunes were funky & the teachers were hilarious.

This term I really hope we get the chance to design & create our own instruments as well as to listen to so many awesome & fantastic music tracks. What do I want to learn this term? What I really want to learn this term is having to learn how to play the piano & Guitar as well as so much more incredible instruments.    

I think that this new term’s theme is really interesting, as we do get to listen to music more than we usually do. This term's theme is going to be really exciting for me & especially for many others. I am really looking forward to be creating & designing our own instruments well as making our own music tracks.  

Task Description:

For this task Room 7 literacy had to do this task & complete it today. This is called Immersion Assembly If you have never done or been to an Immersion Assembly before then please fee free to check this out. This will be so good for people who had never been or have gone to an Immersion Assembly!

WALT: using exciting language

Today our School’s topic is now called, Now that’s thinking. Team 4 will be learning what kinds of technology we could use and how we could create one of our own technology users.

As I already told you our School theme is now called, Now that’s thinking. Team 1-3’s are learning all about kites, Matariki and plenty of their movies were interesting, Describable and amazing. Team 5 are learning how to fix things and simply learning / creating.  

Team 4 is going to be learning about What kinds of technology did Maori use before Pakeha arrived in New Zealand. Team 4’s movie was all about how we could use technology that goes back in time for us to learn about. The movie we seemed to watch was interesting, Confusing and extremely crazy. I was so confused.

What I was hoping to do for this term was to research many things about Maori tribes which is mainly what we are doing. What I was also hoping to do for term 2 was to find out how we could build things around School grounds and help people that are struggling at building.  

Overall I am so excited for this term’s theme. Now it’s my turn, What are you wanting to learn about in term 2? Have a nice term of term 2.  

Task Description:

For this task we had to select the doc from the class sites and write what we are told to write on our doc. I was to write about what our new topic is about, What our new theme was for term 2 and what team 4 is mainly learning about. The School theme is now called Now that's thinking...
