Bonus Activity...

Bonus Activity: A really cool new website called Wild Eyes has recently been launched in New Zealand. It is a programme for students who want to complete fun activities (called ‘missions’), take pictures and post them on the Wild Eyes site. For this bonus activity, go to the Wild Eyes site and complete the ‘Giant Moa Discovery’ mission. To earn full points you must post a picture of your Moa on the Wild Eyes website and on your personal blog site. The Wild Eyes team and I can’t wait to see what you create!

I see that you have done your research and gone looking for evidence of the Moa bird online. It certainly looks like they were HUGE birds, doesn't it? I can't get over how large their eggs were as well. WOW, they appear to be 100 time the size of a regular egg. What would you say if you came across a Moa bird in real life? Would you be scared? I think that I would be pretty nervous...

For this activity, the Wild Eyes team is keen for you to imagine that you have discovered evidence of a Moa bird living in Auckland. To earn the full 20 points, we're looking for you to use materials around your house to create evidence of a Moa. Some students have made footprints out of sand and mud and taken a picture of them. Others have created a big egg and taken a picture of themselves discovering it. What might you create?

Please don't feel any pressure to complete the activity. I just want to be able to give you full points and I can't give you all 20 points until you've completed the entire 'Giant Moa Discovery' activity as written on the Wild Eyes website.

    Cheers!
